UK Formula Ford Championship round 7
Brands Hatch

The Brands Hatch weekend showed just how competitive UKFF is: although I was only six tenths off the pole time in qualifying, I was fourteenth on the grid. I was disappointed with the position, but pleased to be closer, time-wise, to the front.

The race however was awful. Almost everyone made the wrong tyre choice, going out on wets when the track was nearly dry, and I really struggled. For the first time ever I stalled at the start, and when I finally did get going had no pace at all. It was the first time I’ve seen tyres blister. It wasn’t a good race but it has shown us how much we have to learn.
